Guitar players have used coins as guitar picks for eons, the most notable one is ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and his Sliver Peso Picks. The ones he used were the commemorative Pesos from 1957 to 1967 because the silver content was just right for the tones he wanted, and who can argue with that!! Now days you can find some peso picks shaped like the standard teardrop style, but this only gives you one playing option...the tip? So I figured, why not keep it closer to the original coin shape by creating a tri-point style pick? This way you have more playing options and more tonal possibilities, right?
These are larger and easier to hold and to palm when you want to switch to your fingers and then back to the pick again. And these are made for us by craftsmen right here in the U.S. and we're proud to be able to offer these to our customers.
But even with the nicest picks, if you don't have them with you when you need them most; at the gig, in the music store or at a jam session& it's worthless! How many times have you reached for your guitar pick and remembered it was on the dresser top with you pocket change!!!
So I tried to figure out a way to always have you favorite guitar pick with you at all times!! I thought about this for a while and looked at different methods that I could have used, but I remembered that most times I had my keys with me and decided to attach the pick to the key chain...and this became the Silver Peso Travel Pick! And it makes a nice conversation piece as well!!
The clasp system allows you to quickly grab your pick when you need it and be able to secure it safely once again to your keys. This clasp system does allow for more than one peso or other pick to be added. Come and see, feel and hear the difference that these Sliver Peso Picks can make in your tone and playing!!
Silver Peso Travel Pick 2 - This is a smaller version of the Sliver Peso Travel Pick the we are offering on our site. Not every one has larger hands and this is nice for those that want a piece of Tex-Mex Mojo, but have smaller hands. These are a little brighter than the original Silver Peso Travel Picks, because the silver content is different. But it rocks just as hard and the tones that it offers are unmistakable!!!
